We don't have inspections / smog here, so I can do whatever I can afford :).
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

If you were referring to smogging issues..refer to my earlier posts...You can legally only swap in the 3sg's that came to the US (the JDM's will not pass smog w/o modifications...no 3sge's - the 160ho engine made it to US shores...but i've heard toysports was selling a few of those...). If you are dead beat on the 3sgte route...just make sure that the engine came off a 90-93 celica alltrac/gt-4 (ie. st185) or an mr2. If your engine came off 94-98 celica alltrac/gt4 (ie. ST205's)...then most of your engine components and spares will have to imported from either japan or australia (hence, creating atleast a 3-4 week lag after you discover something is missing till you get the part!!!) join us and USE the SEARCH button over at www.celica.net search under forced induction...and you'll see more vaste knowledge on the 3s engines than you'll ever use it your life!

Here are some shops around Houston:

*Call midnight 832-721-7727 (he's a guys who knows toyota's) tell him jhbhatia from houston imports referred you!

*there's a place called toyota parts on 59 just north of the chimney rock..althought they sell parts..but i heard a rumor about them making the fastest turbo tercel in houston or n. america...don't remember....

*hyper racing 713 910 4677 (the owner of hyper i think has a mr2 project car with a 3sg motor).

*ARD (713) 984 - 9140 ; located at beltway 8 @ hammerly - ask for Owen or Jody.

I think these are your best of the best for toyota in Houston...If we were honda...then the list would be a few pages.....Anyhow...Good luck with your project, keep us posted...and don't act like noobie when you call them and tell them i gave the number...(don't make me look bad now)..j/k!

:drinking:

EDIT: If you go ahead to do something with any of these guys...let me know...may i'll pull my car..and actually go ahead with the conversion..and well....this way we both can have a 2 for 1 discount....BTW: I'm referring to my celica, not my solara!
