^^^ Did a "quick" claybar swipe... but no wax! (Ran out of time... actually, a half-arse job this time around... but better than it was.)

Image

^^^ Initially, shaved the "TOYOTA" and "SE V6" badges... then realized, I had the VVT-i laying around, so I stuck it on...

Image

^^^ IMMEDIATELY noticed it looks like "WTF" from a few yards away!!! HA HA HA!!! "WHAT-THE- w/intelligence" BWAAAAAHHHHHhhhh ha ha ha!

Anyway... thought I'd put it up, all the same.

(I KNOW, I KNOW! There is still residue from the old tags... I'll clean it later! Didn't see it when I took the shots! :-?

Overall, the SHAVED looks MUCH better, even though it's nothing like Milt's job on Posh's car... and yet... I HAD to try the VVT-i just to see how it looks. Actually, got some attention right away! (What kind of car is that?)

Ha ha!

PS: 87,000 miles on the car now... still runs like new. (Heck, BETTER!)

More than a year ago, you urged me to use clay bar. I went out and bought some, but I still have not used it.

I will use it soon though, I promise.

BTW- Your car is still looking good

Its funny you should ask. I just went to the dealer today.

I ordered an Arai helmet and asked about my delivery.

The dealer said I was the first to put a deposit down at his location. Since me 15 other people also put down a deposit. (they are almost sold out and so far no one in the US has put a leg over this bike yet)

According to the Yamaha ordering system, I am scheduled to take delivery in November. The guy that put his deposit down after me is scheduled for a December delivery. The three deposits after him are scheduled for January.

I guess the early worm does get eaten by the bird. (or something like that)

I've heard about clay bars since I was a youngin but first used one about a month ago on the Lara. Trust me, it big time rocks the paint.

You are mistaken. This bike has not been released yet. In fact, most motorcycle magazines are finally able to road test it now. Hopefully, they should print good reviews in Sept or Oct magazines.

Too small? It's 1700CCs. There aren't many bigger bikes than this one.

Whats not to love? I think its one hell of a machine.

^^^ Yeah, I didn't really PLAN the claybar last weekend, but once I had the car washed off... and a couple hours before dark... I opened the kit and couldn't resist NOT doing a "quick clean". AMAZING how much "grit" I captured even AFTER the car wash. Mostly small "sap spittle" from our towering pines in my driveway, I suspect...

You can SEE the difference between the front quarter panel, hood, and BUMPER. The bumper was NOT claybar'd. (I didn't have it "clean enough" with the "bug sh!t" and all... so I'll do it another day.) I think it is "dull" even BEYOND the slight color mismatch that is typical on plastic/body panel transitions...

Anyway, the car DOES look better than it did... even though I didn't do the windows yet (CARDINAL SIN! :-? ) and the WAX will make it REALLY pop when I REPEAT the whole process again sometime soon.

PS: I KNOW! The grille is really DIRTY STILL!

^^^ Maybe he saw a "B-King"? (Still... NOT a "SMALL" bike, by ANY means!)

Also, I concur... NO MAX out yet!
