Fog light fuse keeps blowing

Fog light fuse keeps blowing

Postby YESCA » Tue Aug 26, 2008 1:51 pm

Ok... so I have 9006 Yellow HID's in my fog lights and I have a problem that every couple of weeks the fuse blows. now i have checked all the connections and nothing it touching anything. I was thinking the the power from the HID's could be just a bit too much for the fogs and that is why they keep blowing, but I not sure.

thoughts??

how many watts are the bulbs? my standard fog lights were like 50w. also how did you get the 9006 bulbs to fit?

I have 6000K HIDs in my fogs, and I dont have that problem. If you are pulling more than 55 watts per side, then you'll need to add a wiring harness with a relay.

You could just put a stronger fuse in the car, but then you'd fry your wires eventually. Also, make sure all your connections are stong as hell. A "half decent" connection will put a strain on any circuit.
