Well, here goes nothin! Custom mount for Eye8Pussies

Decided to try fabricating a custom dogbone mount. King is a little over 300 crank hp, so he keeps destroying the mount. Mainly due to the fact that it is a 5-speed, and not an Auto, there is more jolting and stress. Need to get different washers and bolt to properly fit, and see how it works. No idea how well or if it does, but we'll find out!

that we will....

it's only funny because I can tell almost the instant that the dogbone mount isn't doing its job properly....wheel hop galore!!

with this, I expect more vibrations, but nice clean wheel peel when needed.

first you don't nee to have over 300 to destroy that mount, second don't have to be 5 speed either The reason I say this is because I have destroyed like 3 in just months until I decided to make it a solid one using the stock one but with urethane

yeah, it would....but I was always too cheap to get a set and get them pressed in since I'm in Canada most of the time, so I would make my own from polyurethane.

granted, I always rushed the process, so I could have made them much better (like my tranny mount, which is now incredibly solid), but a more solid mount is something that I'm looking for anyway right now.

we'll keep people posted on how it goes.

if you can destroy one of those 3 times, then you better start checking your other mounts....especially with an auto, there's extra stress on the dogbone that definitely shouldn't be there...getting a polyurethane one is only a band-aid solution (though, it could be a permanent band-aid, since the polyurethane will last a loooong time lol)

I'd suggest you check your rear mount

A solid rear engine mount is the solution, in my opinion the dog bone and torque rod are the support for the rear mount, if your rear mount is out the engine leans to the right, the dog bone will out quick. I did a write up on the relocating of my boost port, use the search icon, if you do the rear mount that I describe you will have no wheel hop at all, my dog bone is completely shoot and yet can do a sick as5 burn out with absolutly no wheel hop. Just my 2 cents.

It happens if you are like me and go to the drag strip a lot but hopefully all my mounts are okay

I definitely agree on the solid rear mount solution, but my car is a daily driver and I do 1000mile trips regularly, so I want to still have some comfort for my drives lol

I've also reinforced my rear mount with polyurethane though, and it has helped a lot. For me, I think this solid design dogbone should be the final solution to what I'm looking for in terms of performance and comfort. Before I broke my dogbone mount yet again, I was dealing with very little wheel hop or engine movement during power shifts (stage 3 clutch) with the solid torque rod and polyurethane reinforced mounts

Nice, if you make more of these I'd pick one up Adam.

When'd you get another set of Ksports King?

lol.... I shouldn't keep too many secrets to myself.... a week after I roll out my plans and work on it, I find out its been done once before.... ha hahaha

I have a rear mount I got from Dawgs, in the process of hollowing it out, and putting in 80A polyurethane.... I have the super pro dogbone bushings with Jim's torque rod.

I will also be re-doing all my front suspension bushings, I think they are worn a little bit.
Geeks get it done, while Nerds whimper and call for mommie.

hey paul, I picked them up locally from option_fans in TO for a really good price along with some other stuff that he didn't need as well, since he now drives a fit.

one of my rear strut mounts was dead beyond belief (finally- stock mounts! with over 300K km on them!) and since I was going to spend some time and money on doing some maintenance anyway, I picked his ksports up instead
