Does the door have a frame around the window? On the Toyota site it looks like it doesn't. I haven't had much luck with frameless windows, ie 84 Trans Am 95 Ccorvette and the worst a 95 Neon. They never seemed to seal right.

IMO frameless is a good thing... especially looks wise

but if it leaks then just get the rubber replaced... or you could go to home depot and add another thin layer of rubber over the original... it has a sticky side to it so its VERY EASY to do...

but overall, just because its frameless doesnt mean its a guarantee that it will leak... only means you got a partial lemon  some sunroofs have that problem too
Retired... its been fun Image

I think the car makes you mentioned - Trans Am, Corvette, Neon - says it all regarding your problems. GM, Chrysler (and Ford) engineering and quality don't compare to Toyota.

I have one of the first Solara's off the production line. A early 1999 Solara SLE. I've put a 115,000 miles on the car. I have had no problems with the windows -leaks, wind noise, sealing or anything.

i've got to agree with the guy who posted b4 me...my solara has 82K and mine was one of the first ones..i've seen in this area...i know...cuz i've only seen one solara with a lower license plate then mine...and i've never had a leak b4...and i've driven it in hail b4..so...oh yeah..american cars are not built as welll...its a fact..that might be why ur other cars have leaked....
