I gotta tell ya, that is something I struggled with for a long time. I had a 67 GT Mustang Fastback a long time ago and would really like to have an old muscle car again. Like every time I see one! BUT, they come with their share of problems too. They don't drive near as nice either. I think back about how bad the steering was and practically standing on the brakes to get it to stop, the rust problems, the little water leak in the corner and the squeek that would come and go periodically. I say fix up the Solara, that's what I did. 8) -JoeB

I'm not really worried about it being fast......There is something about the way that a muscle car engine roars though....like a lion.....

amen brotha!

my thoughts are still roaming around that i will purchase a 70' chevelle malibu and pop in either a stroker engine or 427 small block. or shall i resort to the monstrous 502? hehe... the beaty of those year cars is that there are only a few wires to hook up and that is that... mmmm turbo 450 tranny with posi trac.. oh man!

i'd still side with american muscle. but that's just me

1)it would gain respect of cops and still get away with driving around in the streets.

2) imports have to be trailored in if you are drag set up and cops dont like imports. :)
