ppl, u can add/shoot up to 50% of stock power using NOS. As for good or bad, it goes both ways. U hav to install it right and hav the necessary components. And going above the limit means damage to ur car: just like the ppl in this site who bought the upgrade pulleys for the s\c -- blown knock sensor is it? Get the idea?

sliver, you have a good point but blowing the knock sensors just comes from running too lean. The SuperCharger does great at forcing all that air in there, just gotta make sure you get enough fuel to keep up...

The real problem is too much boost with either the S/C or NOS could be too much strain for the engine internals like your pistons. I think I remember someone here cracked a piston with a S/C and a smaller pulley. -JoeB

hey, there's a risk in everything. And it's always up to u if u want to take that risk. The point is, NOS is good and bad at the same time. So is the s/c. It will definitely shorten the life of the engine, just like NOS will.

My opinion - If I have money to install NOS (but not more than 50 ponies - I love my A/T - I will definetely do it. Even with S/C (I HAVE IT) I can't compete with CL500 on my A/T. NOS can give me the satisfaction of kicking butt to these MB cars. Properly installed it can influence only my A/T but adding a new stiff hidrodempfer, Fuel pump, Injectors and FMU + modified ECU (through i.e. Authronic) can provide me some portion of pleasure.

At the end of the day, he's still be driving a MB.

If you want a fast car, buy a car with a platform that is meant to be fast.

ok heres the deal people, me and my friend Glok , both pretty well know members here, have both ran a 70-80 shot of nos consistently on our v6 5 speeds camrys for about 6 months straight. did we ever have problems?, no but........... did we want the charger instead of the nos??, hell yeah!

we both got the charger and i can tell you straight up, my car at 7psi is ALOT faster than my car was with a 80 shot of nos.

so you guys can keep talkin out of your as*, but the truth is with proper fuel tuning both ways, the charger is gonna come out on top
you wanna keep the debate going, lets do it. i have been both sc'd and nos'd, and the nos is no comparison the the charger.

I don't mean to burst anyones bubble but, JoeB has already run NOS on his modified V6 Solara. I would not recommend doing the same on a stock motor unless you got a few bucks to burn.

Now you can test my non-NOS Solara automatic or Rizals 5 speed if you just must push yourself..

On a V6 Solara, a 40-50 shot of nitrous won't do any harm. In turn, because it is a very small shot it, at full throttle w/out a S/C the air/fuel mixs much more effeciently. I have my bottle directly connected to the intake and have never had a problem with it. The only time I can say iI have a problem with it is when the bottle is not warm. When the bottle is cold, the shot is much less effective and more fuel is used less effective. I live in So. Cal. and the true street races here are all about using nitrous and hiding it well. I have mine hidden beneath my dash. Of course, it is obvious the way you use nitrous will take a toll on your car if you do not have a valvetrain, proper pistons, or other internals. In addition, you also will not mash on the bottle everytime you turn the car on. Use it speradically and ONLY WHEN YOU TRUELY NEED IT.
