If rear fill is wanted, why not just use the factory 6x9's? Two of those will probably have the same effect as an 8".

My friend is going with 1 12" now, and another 12" in the future (although I can get him 12 months same as cash...)

My hook up said he can't get 10" ones because he "doesn't deal w/ dinky sh..." lol Sorry =x There is still 1 or 2 more 12" W7 I can weasel out... I'll let you know.

Not talking rear fill. Talking about bass. Out of phase subs will preform on two different frequncies, giving the effect of bigger, fuller bass (that is if it is done right) Somewhat like what people do with rear speakers for rear fill.

BTW, if you know any 6x9's that can preform like a JL 8W7 let me know... i'll sure as hell buy them

i actuall once had "squash" scented air freshener. Came in a little frosted glass bottle with a blue top. Hehe i used to put it on my dash and pump the bass so i could watch it dance.

Now you know why i don't have a dvd player/lcd screen

Your original post related the 8" as rear fill if you wire out-of-phase. Out-of-phase subs do NOT perform on different frequencies, it's just time shifted. So basically, what you are suggesting is that the 12" play regularly, then, phase shift the 8" so there will never be a dead point at a wavelength node, but just the amplitude would be smaller. That would be droning out the bass, not fill.

The surface area of two 6x9's will have similar effects as an 8", thus they are sufficient for rear fill, but won't have the deep extension of a bass driver. If you want just to have bass notes between the beats of a 12", IMO, the 6x9s will suffice.
