Here some update pictures, and i have a few questions as well!

Heres my project car, only 45500 miles...a perfect candidate to be supercharged.

She has sat in my garage for the past 4 years and was a home to rats, ewwwww. i have since evicted them, and some have paid the ultimate price and were put to DEATH. i would never take a life but they carry diseases for crying out loud

I broke down the supercharger this morning...

A few questions i have....
any ideas how to safely take off the pulley?
do the bearings inside the charger come out?
who can direct to a site where i can get a new egr tube?

thanks guys

The EGR tubes are just about impossible to find unless it is a used one from someone here. If you dont have emissions in your state, just run blockoff plates and remove the EGR all together- that's what I did.

The bearings should be removable, but the s/c looks really clean... I dont think youre going to need a rebuild or anything like that. I would personally just change the oil and I think you will be good to go.

As for the pulley, I used an impact to break the nut loose (some said not to, but I never saw any harm in it is long as you dont go crazy with it). After the bolt is off, use a pulley puller to remove the pulley.

Your car is really clean, Im jealous! And thanks, the car never felt extremely fast, but it felt nice to pull on that z haha.

mine has around 65000 on it, im leaning towards not rebuilding it tho, whos doing yours?

nice, did you get an ans to your muffler gap thingy.
I took my to midas and had them install it back in 2001. It costed me 30 bucks and I watched them do it, I paid additional for longer some screws..that brought this gap closed (I think stocks weren't working or was a way to make additional $$...I didn't care at that time forking additional 4 bucks). GL with your project.

You could always use a flat gasket like 60496-1 or 60674. I think 60496-1 would work a little better because it it thicker.

You dont need to do anything to stop it from spinning with an impact because it move so fast. Itll zap the bolt right loose, no worries. I went to discount tire and used their impact since my friend is a manager there.

As for the EGR, it will throw a CEL, but I just ignored it... we have no emissions or inspection here in michigan whatsoever, so it didnt matter :)

i had the luxury of having a second car, a toyota 4 runner, so that became my daily driver.

Heres an update on pics, thanks to some searching i saw you could remove the internals of the s/c, so i did that with mine. There are little scrapes on the inside of the charger and on the turbines. as i discussed with eye8pussies i believe it is just wear and tear, and like he said i will keep an eye on it. he recommended i clean it with carb cleaner, but i also saw a poster named sienna cleaned his with acetone. i will let yall know how they work.

here it is starting to come off, i will reseal it with rtv

Image

uh oh its off now (charger just looks weird without it)

Image

this needs to be cleaned but its not too bad i guess

Image

inside charger...

Image

tried to get close up of tiny scrapes...

Image

what i drive when i really want to go fast 8)

thanks again to everyone on the board. i have asked tons of questions and everyone has been very friendly and giving me great advice!
