v6 camry vs. v6 solara

i was wondering is the 1mz-fe camry faster than the 1mz-fe solara? the reason i ask is because i remember someone on this forum said that the 1mz-fe avalons were slightly faster than the solaras.

Don't assume the weight versus faster = going fast. I think this has been discussed earlier...from what i recall, solara's 1mz were faster...but solara's (compared to camry's weigh more)...hence the drawback....

the OLD 1MZ Avalons were SLIGHTLY lighter than the 1MZ Solaras, therefore they will feel faster.

The Prev. generation (Gen 4) Camry was also lighter I believe... but the Gen 5 Camry was about the same if not heavier than the Solara BUT Toyota added VVT-i to the Gen 5 Camrys, which totally changes the torque curve!! It's not a Porsche torque curve yet (peak from 2000ish to redline), but it'll do =]

Throw in the fact that '04 SE V6 Camry's get the same 3.3 treatment as the Solara.
