CLEAR BRA QUESTION

CLEAR BRA QUESTION

Postby fotodad » Tue Sep 23, 2003 5:09 pm

I don't believe it! I just had an InvisGuard clear bra installed on my Solara. Unfortunately, I had to wait a week after buying the car before I could have the bra installed. I am exceptionally pleased with the appearance of the bra and its protective qualities. BUT! While washing the car yesterday I noticed two small stone chips in the hood underneath the clear bra. Obviously they got there before the bra was installed. I called the installer, and he said he'd have to remove the hood protective section, touch up the paint chip areas, and install a new hood InvisiGuard section. All for $180.00!!!!! I asked him to cut me a better deal or figure out a new solution. He hasn't gotten back to me, yet.

Should I live with the two small stone chips, have them touched up then reinstall the InvisiGuard on the hood, or find another solution? I'm not sure there is another solution, however.

Any ideas!

PS Ya, I know I should have looked at the hood BEFORE the InvisiGuard was installed. I'm still kicking myself in the buttocks for that idiotic move!

Sorry fotodad, I think ya gotta suck it up.... Too bad though. It would've been nice if they'd point that out to you before the application.

How much did that cost? Can you see it? I've never seen anyone with that before (or maybe I did  ). -JoeB

that actually happened to my friends Accord...his car is silver and you can notice the discoloration of the clear bra on certain angles.

I'm going to take pictures of the car and the clear bra in the next couple of days. I'll happily post them if i can figure out how to post pics to the site! The early clear bras did have a problem with slight yellowing over time. The product I purchased has a lifetime warranty against yellowing AND peeling. If I notice yellowing or peeling, they replace the bra, no questions asked. As far as an itemized cost goes, I'll have to check my receipt. I'll post it along with the pictures. I do remember I paid $500.00 to have the bumper, the hood, rocker panels, fenders, mirrors, and headlights covered. You're probably thinking, "My God, his car must look like a quilt!" I think you'll be pleasantly surprised, as I was, when you see the pictures.

I purchased and put the magnet bra on my car last week. So far I'm happy with it. Got it at www.magnetbra.com. Does anyone know if these bras are any good over time?

http://www.zer0.info/solaraguy/viewtopic.php?p=43166&highlight=#43166 I'd say just leave it if those chips aren't too noticable. I have ultrashield on my car, and it's still holding strong ( got couple of pix I took a while back on the thread above). I think it's worth every pennies :fadein:
