Sunroof

Sunroof

Postby ChrYstiE » Thu Sep 25, 2003 11:59 am

I searched previous posts to see if anyone else has had this problem as well. When the sliding sunroof cover is open, exposing the sunroof, and the sunroof is not open, when i go over bumps, the whole roof rattles. When the cover is closed, I don't hear anything, but I am not sure if it just muffling the noise. Does anyones else have this too? I think I might have it looked at by the dealer when I get my visor replaced (which just shorted out)

I'd say something is def. wrong with your moonroof if it rattels. Do you have a visor for the roof, Have you check to see if the screws on that are tight. thats what i would check first.

Well when you open up the inner visor to the sunroof, does it get looser? and as you close it, it gets stiffer? its probably just the railing as you close and open that inner visor of the sunroof
Retired... its been fun Image

sunroof

This most likely isnt a rattle. Try this. Open the sunroof half way and clean the rubber with Armourall. Now close the sunroof and open the back of the sunroof and clean the rubber edge. The rubber gets dirty and dry and sounds just like a rattle. Someone told me to do this when I complained about a sunroof rattle and I thought they were nuts but it worked.

Seems like the moonroofs are flawe. Has anyone ever tapped the close button and when it's just about closed, it opens again?

I checked the visor, it's on pretty tight...It sounds like the noise is reverberating along the entire roof of the car (from the sunroof to the rear window). I looked up in there for anything strange and I didn't see anything.
