Brake Noise & Better Radiator Hose?

OK, after I installed the poterfield and the SSBL from the dealer, after 2 weeks of driving, it start making noises, it's like those taxi braking with those high pitch noise. I wonder why, should i go back to the dealer and let them take a look?


Also, I'm looking for new better hoses for the radiator, does anyone know where I can find them?

Check if they put back all anti-squeal plates on each brake pad. There are two on each pad (at least on '97-01 was like this). Plus, make sure they are lubricated with thick, high-temp caliper grease. I think that you can see without removing the wheels (if you have alloys) all this. If it looks suspicious - go back to dealer. If not - go back too to complain and take a look, but drive a few hundred miles before letting them touch again - sometimes the brakes will settle.

They will likely tell you it's "all because you went aftermarket" but don't believe them!

have you made and real fast stops recently?

they say that you have to give the rotors 500 miles before "extreme braking" i have the same problem. the dealer said that i glazed them and that there is a spray that will fix it. i've just been too busy to get it done myself. let me know if you find out something else

Could you explain these anti-squeal plates? I've never heard of them. I'm not questioning whether you're correct, just want to learn. You aren't talking about the wear indicator(s) are you? Most pads come with a little metal tab, sometimes 2, that are on the edge of the pad. The purpose of them IS to squeal to let you know the pad is wearing down. Typically the way it'll work is while you're driving, you'll hear a screeching noise and it usually goes away or gets quieter when you press the brakes. That is the only plate I know of. -JoeB

I have the stock brakes, but I painted them Red and they squeal somthing awful...with 40,000 miles on the car, could it just be low pads?

Flash, it's probably just your pads. Depending on your driving habits as to how long your brake pads will last. 40,000 miles is normal wear for front pads. I don't know if our stock pads have wear indicators (most do). If so, turn your wheel hard one direction and see if you see the little metal tab on the edge of the pad near the rotor. Or just change the pad... -JoeB

I probably going to the dealer tomorrow to install the guage and let them see the brakes.

Well the noise doesn't start everytime i hit my brakes, it's like while i was driving 40 mph and i have to stop slowly, there are no noise when i hit it hard.

I dunno, i let them check it out tomorrow.

Btw, i use the OEM rotor.

anyone know about aftermarket radiator hoses?

as long as you are not running a turbo in there, there is no need to upgrade or change the radiator hose. come to think about it, i dont even know if there is an aftermarket hose out. just replacement
