Subwoofer box & suspension

Hey, I need a little advice on what to do. I got a sub installed in an approximately 60 lbs enclosure; sub itself weighs 40 lbs, plus amp, so total extra weight with install was 125 lbs or so, all over the rear axle. As you can tell probably, there was a sufficient drop in the suspension upon installation of the equipment. What should I do to alleviate the problem with hitting bumps and grinding the top of the suspension thing (dont know what its called, but its this rounded dark plastic/ or metal plate-like thing about 3/4" above the tire, on both rear tires). What do I do? Thanks.

If you are refering to the piece of your strut that sticks out over tires just a tiny bit... it wont ever touch the tire. Its connected to the wheel hub/brake assembly and that isnt the part of the strut that gives. If you are worried about the apperence of the car try new springs. I have the teins with 3 15's in the back and the car looks nearly level. I hear the ebiach are better for proformance?!

well if you have the srpings and upgraded shocks then your car should be fine. i just had my amp taken out for service and when my box came out my car went up about half an inch. I only have trd sroings which i got when they first came out back in 99 and i haven't had much problem considereing my box weighs around 60 pounds maybe a bit more plus the subs which brings the whole thing to maybe 100-130? something like that.....pretty heavy....plus the amps, caps, etc.....and my suspension is fine....

I have about 200lb of system in the back, my rear alightment was keep going off. More then 2 mechanics had told me that it is my heavy butt. After i observed uneven wear of tire thread (inside wear more then out side), So i mod the rear axle carrier to adjust the toe angle. Now my rear wheel goes perfectly straight, no more butterfly. i am using eibach and tokicos
