What are some quality brand name rims?

I'm shopping for rims...can you guys name some quality rims and other opinions? Where is a good place in So. Cal to buy rims? Or online sites? My max is $1300 for rims...thanks.

depends on what your taste is. do you want a simple 5 spoke style, or somethin' more extravagant? at first i wanted tenzo shu-10's, but now i'm debating that, as i don't want to be cleaning those bastards every week...

My current stocks are 17s with 255/15 tires. I’m looking to stick with size 17s or move up to 18s at the highest. I heard that you should optimally stick with the stock dimensions, like stick with my 255/15 tire dimensions, so it will keep everything else proportional and running efficiently. Is this true? Or does it make much of a difference if there’s a change in the tire size dimensions? I’m only planning to change the wheels/tires, and not the springs, shocks.

As for rims preference, I’m looking for silver 17s or 18s with not too many spokes: either between 5-7 spokes. Something like the Tenzo Mean 6s with the bolts border. Not too simple and not too extravagant. I’m not into chrome either. Is wheelwarehouse in Anaheim, CA a good place with good prices?

255/15? I dont think 255's will fit Solara...

There should be plenty for 17s for less than $1300.
You can get some 18's for around $1300 as well.

one of our members, i think flash, has recently purchased wheels and tires from there and, as i recall, he was completely satisfied.

if trust is a factor that's stopping you, try checking certain local dealers.

wheelwarehouse is good i heard but expensive...but hey look at it this way they'v been selling rims since the very beginning of our "scene" way back in the early 90's....they were there...so maybe you shopuld check it out...i dunno if i were buying rims i would get rims from a reputable company or from a manufacturer that has been making rims for a while...

$1300 and "quality rims" probably shouldn't be used in the same paragraph. With that kind of budget, you'll probably be limited to some Taiwanese replicas of wheels (which are fine in themselves). Just know that the "quality" brands will probably be out of your budget.

i just got myself 5zigen copse 18, one piece
very sturdy wheels, i have them runnin on 235/40/18s
have been thru some mad bumps since then. no bending.

they are made in japan and are way better than ones made in taiwan/south africa

they shud run 250 a rim

i got a bomb deal from americas tire, they sold it to me for 185 + tax. (some one messed up and gave me that quote and i jumped on it)

i have been too lazy to post pics, but will do it soon.

BTW, copse are dish rims/lip rims (whatever it is called) as in the spokes are set a bit inside so you see a nice lip (about 3 inches wide) like the BMW 540s have, I LOVE THEM!
