Woohooo! Hey everyone, I just started learning stick from my neighor last weekend and I gotta say I LOVE IT! So I'm getting closer and closer to my goal of owning a 2002 V6 Solara! Woot woot! I was just wondering if anyone had manual Solaras noticed any fun differences than driving automatic? Any drawbacks? Thanks again folks

the manual tranny wil always be more fun EXCEPT in the following situations... usually found in Los Angeles =D

Stop / Go traffic (freeway =( )
Stop signs at the top of a hill (risking a roll down into the guy behind you if the moron stops too close... yes there are a lot of morons here in LA =D )
hmm... parallel parking on hills
Going over dips (if your car is lowered and you just started driving stick)
... I think that's it.
1GR-FE ftw!

don't be scared at all, be excited!
driving stick is the most fun you can have in a car. total control at all times! i don't think i'll ever own an automatic in the future.

The '02 Solara: Last year for the manual shift AND

Postby ezshift5 » Fri Oct 03, 2003 9:45 pm

....FWIW (IMHO): a good choice for you.

A. The clutch and shifter are actually not bad

B. The fuel economy (should) surprise you (given half a chance)...

Best of Luck locating a good one..........ez
