HP Numbers

HP Numbers

Postby B_Master_Flash » Wed Oct 01, 2003 4:39 pm

I have owned my solara for about 2 months now and I have just started modding it. I was disappointed to find out that the intake I bought, along with just about any intake or exhaust, adds a negligible ammount of horsepower. I just wanted to know if anyone had solid horsepower/torque numbers of what a solara with the basic HP upgrades (i.e. intake, headers, exhaust, and supercharger) was capable of. 0-60 or 1/4 times would also work. :wink:

money = power

go for supercharger

you won't see any big gains before you add the charger

hsakuragi hit the nail right on the head.

the intake/cat-back exhaust combo will probably only give about 5-7hp. believe it or not, the short ram intake takes low-end horse power away.

well i think with S/C, header, y pipe, exhaust and 5 spd will give you around 230-250 whp...and it's all depends on weather, your parts on your call and geograhic matters and so on.....

nothing too significant. SAFC is not made to give you power. the unit is here for balancing and smoothing out curves from the aftermarket mods added to the car.

oops..hehe.. 4got the thread title "HP Numbers"

if it was based solely on that than the s-afc would be marginal

What I do understand tho is that the s-afc makes usable hp by improving the power curves

Hate to change my own subject, but what is S-AFC?

Back on subject though, can anyone verify what HP difference it makes changing the pulleys on the supercharger?

I dyno'd at 248.2HP/232.4Torque on a Mustang Dyno. Add another 10% to 15% on a dynojet. Thats with Injen intake, JP headers/ypipe/exhuast, 6lbs pulley, and SAFC II tuning.

Haha, you make it sound like it takes skill to beat a V6 mustang.
So from what I saw at that website, isn't the safc basically a piggy-back on the ECU?

You got it. Basically it intercepts signals that would have gone to the ECU and allows you to modify them at many RPM points. -JoeB
