Smell??

Just wanted to chime in here. I started getting a strong exhaust smell as well (50K miles on a 99). Took it to my mechanic and he found the problem. It looks like I have a leak in the oil pan gasket and also the rear main oil seal. The oil was dripping down and hitting the hot exhaust pipe which was burning it off, thus the bad smell.

Hey everybody,

The recent discussion about TSBs made me check out all of the TSBs for the 2002 Solara. Check out #12 - EG003-03 Exhaust System - Sulfur Smell:
