Suggestion on Rims/Tires for 2001 Solara SLE

Postby pepowdylan » Thu Jul 02, 2009 10:31 am

I have a white 2001 Coupe SLE Solara. I just got 20% tint put on it, so its the first of many add-ons going to be put on this car.

Right now its all stock expect for the tint. So next I am going to put rims and tires on.

I need suggestions.

Brand
Color
Size

Post links to some rims and/or tires that would work out good with this car.

Thanks! This is my car right now.

at the very least, you should pick your own rims

...we don't know your budget

we don't know your taste

we don't know the condition of the roads where you drive (could make the difference between a 17" and a 18" rim)

we don't know if you plan on doing other mods (like suspension) down the road (could make the difference between 18" and 19" rims)

so you should pick something yourself, after doing some research about whether they'll fit...and if you like them.

questions to ask yourself:
do you plan on lowering your ride?
are there a lot of potholes/speed bumps in the area you drive?
how much money do you want to spend?
are you going to want to have the wheel flush in the wheel well, or do you not mind having some gap between the tire and the quarterpanel?
are you going to want to get rims that will require you to roll your fenders?
are the rims you like/want about to be discontinued (in case you need to order an extra)?

if you want something that doesn't require thinking, then just get the TRD revo's - they'll fit without a second thought, they're relatively inexpensive, and they're a decently good-looking rim for our cars.

anything beyond that is on you mang.
