I tried this on a 2004 SLE 4 cylinder solara. All it did was flash 4 dashes up and as each second passed one disappeared. Then it flashed 0000000 and then the mileage popped back up. Weird.

Oh and on my Gen 1 it keeps resetting to 6. That seems to be the number for everyone on average.

on your 04, you just reset the oil change reminder light. that's all that is.

on the gen1, i have no idea what this is, but the theory about fine calibration for either odo or speedo does make sense. would have to have radar or a dyno to verify this though.

Yup, mine says 6 also... You can change the number too. Next time you turn on your car, it's the new number.

******FOUND THE SOLUTION TO DISABLE THE SEAT BELT CHIME*****************
************************************************** *******************
Well, no wiring mod is required. Here is the procedure:

1. Set the LCD on the combination meter to the ODO trip.
2. Press and hold the TRIP meter reset knob for ten seconds or more within six seconds of turning the ignition switch to the ON position. Fastening the driver's seat belt while holding the knob cancels the buzzer reminder. (You may have to hit the reset meter knob to cycle through b-ON to b-OFF)
3. When this occurs, the LCD displays "b-OFF". The buzzer reminder can be switched between ON and OFF each time the TRIP meter knob is pressed. The LCD displays "b-ON" or "b-OFF" according to the buzzer reminder ON/OFF status. The display changes to the ODO or trip meter if the knob is not pressed in 10 seconds.
4) Performing steps 1) and 2) again when the buzzer reminder is off exits cancel mode.

I was able to disable the seat buzzer and took a drive. IT WORKs! I am so relieved.

to get rid of the maintenance light- put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on(all the warning lights turn on but dont start the engine) position, click the button by the odometer until the mileage of your truck comes on. hold down the push button and turn the key to the off position, still holding the button, wait about 10 secs, keep holding the button, turn the key to the on position(all the warning lights turn on but dont start the engine) you will see 4 or 5 dashes on the odometer, wait till they dissappear. thats it, release the button.
