New pics, video clip, and CF hood question

Postby GzNutz » Mon Aug 17, 2009 2:18 pm

The CF hood looks great because of the contrast with the car's color.

*I also liked how at the end of the vid the wheel seems to step over the curb!

Good to hear from more people.

GzNutz, I have several clips from the side of the car showing the wheel coming off the ground. :P

I like it. Not sure how to describe it but it's a deep yellow and the overlay does withstand the high temp. I waited a long time for the overlay but I'm glad I finally got it on :). Thanks Fernando.

Your Gen 4 has come a long way Danny. Looks great, just black out your corners and you're money.

i would paint it the color of my car and don't say anything about it. you don't need to tell anybody . gives you an edge when running the mountians or racing.maybe you should show up at willow springs with frank an i on 9-11-09.we have drivin together at crest highway. be good to see you show up.

Thanks for the comments guys. I decided to switch back to my stock headlights and hood for a cleaner look. Painting the CF hood would be ideal but I just don't think it's worth the money to get all that done. Anyways, feel free to post your thoughts.

Hey man don't worry what other people think! Great video!

If you're able to, I would suggest hooking up a microphone to the camera and putting it inside the cab so we hear the engine instead of static. If that's not possible you can always record the audio separately and then sync it using video editing software.

The carbon hood was nice, if you can back up the look with performance it's not rice at all!

I don't have any room for car parts so I got to sell the hood soon. It's a VIS carbon fiber with holes for the windshield wiper sprayers. It needs to be recleared. It should fit all gen4 Camrys (97-01) and I have the 2000.

That's a good idea about the video recording. I don't have a microphone but I can probably use 2 camcorders and sync the sound like you said.

Personally I'm going for a clean/sporty look so I think the CF hood/black headlights were a bit too much. Lot of people called it "rice" and that's not the look I want haha. The Camry is underpowered but it does hold it's own when it comes to the downhill part of canyon roads. But I agree, no power to back up the CF.

Just check over your camcorder and if there's a plug any cheap microphone should do the trick! It'll probably be a micro or mini plug (micro/mini mono or micro/mini stereo). I'm sure they can be had at an extremely low cost online.

For example:

Might need a mini to micro adapter depending on the camcorder. Mini is the size used for ipod headphones and computer speakers, micro is smaller.

Looks eleventy million times better!

Those wheels set the car off very well, it looks a lot cleaner with the stock hood and lights. Great job! :P
