It will work better once I build the box that will seal up the filter from the engine bay, only allowing air from outside the hood to enter the filter. As requested here are some better pics: (note: the turbo emblem isn't just a ricer mod, I am indeed building a rear mount turbo)

i was considereing a rear mount turbo. From my calculations the extra pipe canceled out the price for a decent fmic. Plus 1mz = less space. keep us updated, you already have me hooked.

Bad Angel...

Yeah the grill looks kinda crooked becuase the shadow on one side, but it curves up in the middle a little too much. I'll fix it later. Thanks guys!

Update:
I got tired of my filter getting soaked everytime it rained (it rains alot here), so I made a heat shield. It was very easy to make, and now I dont have to worry about water getting into my engine. It looks kinda goofy because I made it 10 inches long. The reason being: I ordered a 10 inch K&n filter, which will be here soon. The new filter will fill out the shield much better than the craptastic Autozone one I have now. Does it look good black? Paint it red?

Good idea with the heat shield.

Since you are trying to make this functional, get an Injen intake so you don't ruin your engine with the cheapie eBay intake.

And don't put the Turbo emblem on UNTIL you are boosted! All the ricers say they are going to turbo their car in the future. Turbo the car first and then it won't be a ricer mod.

Keep up the good work and keep us updated on the box you build to isolate the air filter! Should be interesting!
