Just got my car broken into today. jerk put a screw driver or something in the side of the window and popped it open and jacked my leather jacket and bookbag with books in it. They didnt take my sunglasses or headunit.. now i decided i need to tint my windows and add an alarm. What are some good alarms out?

Delphi makes Viper....personally, I like the one with the lcd of the car so you can see if sh*t's going down from hundreds of yards away...you're gonna pay for it though....

Im going to be getting a alarm soon also.. the stock factory alarm just isn't cutting it for me also.. i have been thinking about the autopage alarm which had the LCD monitor keychain and alot of kool stuff hood relay and trunk relay incase someone trying to break in thru that compartment.. but im still doing a little research on it..

the system cost about $400 installed and a alarm shop...

i got my alarm done recenlty cuz...i dont want my car broken into...i got the Clifford Matrix RS3 the alarm is pretty good...it has i think 5 zone sensors and it has remote start and a two way pager, so that way the alarm will page you in case your car is getting broken into. and how good is it..i know someone who just got his car broken into an as soon as they got the doors open before they could disable the system the system sent a page out. Clifford has a new alarm out the Matrix RSX 3.5 which is better which might be worth looking into. I got mine done for 300 or so with installation...but im sure it'll cost more than that.

that's the one i got. honestly, i only have Autopage b/c my shop installs it. that way if a part goes bad, i can just swap it out. i installed protection from hood to trunk, with trunk release, and remote start. that kind of install usually runs about 6 bills or more...

uh...the deal i got is cuz i had a hookup who can no longer hook me up...so basically this deal would probably be hard to match, but i can tell you that any shop could sell the alarm itself for around 180-200 and still profit. i saw someone online selling it for around 220 for the RS3. installation shouldn't be more than 2 bills i paid about 150 for mine. so...yea...if that helps any..i would get the RSX 3.5 it has better features, i might try and get the RSX 3.5 ina few months which in that case i'll sling my RS3. :P

I called up a few shops nearby who are authorized sellers and installers of cliford alarsms. I got 2 prices. For the matrix rs3.5 it would be 630 including install. plus 30 for the chip bypass module. Does anyone know about VIPER 791XU? This is another system with the same features as the 3.5, they dsaid 650 installed.

well i think a good fair price for the matrix RS3 is around 5 bills or so for install and everything, but then again the RS3 is an old model now since they just came out with the RSX 3.5...so if you wanna get the RS3 you should be be able to get a good deal since its now the "old model"maybe even as low as 400 bills.

Nothing is going to save you when you don't try to secure the items yourself.

Put the stuff into trunk so it's not visible. How would a better alarm save you? He would still pop the door open, take the jacket and run.

naw, actually the "new" model is not so new. the only thing that really changed was the remote, a few extra channels i'm sure. the 3.5 unit comes with a carbon fiber remote, and that's the only REALLY noticible difference to the consumer.

the Clifford Matrix RS3, or 3.5 will prolly never drop to $400.00 anytime soon

The only difference on the 791xvisthe remote. It is more durable than my 790xv. This alarm is all that and then some! It is so much more user friendly than my alpine 8046 w/proximity sensors on my 83 supra that i had b4 solara! car ison toyotaparts4u.com under show us your toy select celica and goto page3 only 83supra with factory chrome wheels.
