I took'em out of the cabinets they were in, and built my own box to fit. They were bulky and heavy as hell. The reason why is cuz I wasnt gona pay for those crazy kicker prices. Plus I got a good deal on some used stage equipment. The speakers were'nt even the reason it caught fire. It was that dam Legacy amp that overheated.

You have a good set-up there stringbean. Keep up the good work. 8)
Do ya plan on doin anything else with the system?

haha ya overheated amp due to too much draw and strain from the subs probably.

Thanks. I was thinking of buying a Legacy amp to power the subs properly but people have been telling me to buy us amp, andi do like the us amp line so well see when summer comes. also was thinking of mounting speakers on the trunk lid so i have music at my lake when the trunk is open. Also some new 6X9's would be nice, but thats about it.

^Oh hell yeah, the draw was unreal. :o
I dont recomend the legacy line. (personal reasons)

The US line looks nice. Especially that XT4000D & the AX5600. :o Holy Sh!t that looks wonderfull.

Here the past few years Ive been getting into mostly Alpine.
I like their subs(Type Rs & Xs) amps(M2000) and HUs (IVA-W505 or the CDA-9887)
As for 6X9s I like the Alpine SPR-69C. When I get ready to replace mine Ill prolly be getting those.
Nothing more than that for my Lara. I dont want all that weight in her. (makin a track car outta her)
I might get a Gen 2 or a nice Lex for that, and definetly later much later down the road.

hahaha figured so, and ya alpine is great stuff for the price, id like to consider my self an audiophile so i look at stuff like hertz, audison, focal, McIntosh, Bang and Olufsen and so forth but i can afford most of those, the good thing about the MD series of US amps is thats they use the design for the audison amps so its good stuff for a little less pricy price tag!

The MD-3D would power my subs perfectly for the ohms and everything but ya the XT4000D and AX5600 are pretty dope! i wanted to really buy the RE subs but the XXX series are like 550 to 800 a sub us$ and then some to ship to canada eh! but holly smokes the subs are killers!
