Today I washed my car and took photos with my new camera

To get ready for the huge bbq meet with another car club tomorrow, I have washed my car today, including under the hood (I covered the intake and the battery with large plastic sheets before I started the wash).

*I know I need to lower the Solara, but its going to be a while before I lower it with either Tein Coilvers, K Sport Coilovers, or going with a TRD lowering spring/KYB GR-2 shock set up.

I used Meguiar's wheel cleaner to get rid the brake dust in the wheels, it works great.

whoops, I did not do that!! :o

I will do it next time, but my dad just told me to cover the battery and intake.

Thanks for the advice!

Edit: After washing under the hood of the car, I dried the car for about 20 minutes before starting the car and driving it back in the garage.

2 hours later I drove the car to a gas station, everything worked fine.

But I will do what you say next time, thanks again for the advice, my dad didn't even tell me that.

The alternator is very water resistant, you should be fine either way.

I wash my car at the most once a week, anymore is a waste of water imo, the exception to that would be if a bunch of mud or dirt covered the car within a week.

My neighbors always catch me washing my car, they know I take good care of it and sometimes would give compliments.

If my car was a gray color like the Corolla, I could wait a bit longer before washing it, with the white color, it is way too easy to see the dirt.

Or a Desert Sand Mica like mine, I COULD wait a lot longer too,
But being the Obsessive, Compulsive, Disordered individual that
I am, I like my car to shine every day. I don't wash it every day,
but I dust it off every evening in the garage before going to bed
or in the morning before leaving. I use the California Duster. Even
after just one day of normal driving, with no rain or other obvious
contaminants falling from the sky, there is alway a film of black
dust mostly on the each side of the car. If I did not rub my finger
over it, you could not even tell it's there, but the car always looks
freshly waxed with just one dusting. Meguiar's Quick Detail Spray
is a great help also. When the weather is bad, I will give my car
a "whore's bath" inside the garage with a large bucket of water and
sponge and rags, and then detail it with the spray. The garage is
my saving grace. It allows me to keep the windows clean inside and
out and detail the interior as well, without being bother's by any
criticizinig neighbors. I don't think I could handle a white car; it
would drive me to drink, and I am a recovering drug addict, you know. :D
