Yes it would be easier to just buy a new Solara with the V6 and go from there but alas I am stuck with I have and honestly...it's better for me to have a slower car...I get enough tickets the way it is!!! anyways, out of curiousity I emailed JetChip and they have an ECU chip available and thought I would pass along the information for others whom may be interested in spending the loot. Enjoy.

We do have an ecu upgrade available for your application. The ecu upgrade does require that the factory ecu be sent to us for modification. You must purchase the upgrade package before sending the ecu to us for the modification. Suggested retail is $499.00, and the part number is 65003. The ecu upgrades are all done per the application, in other words, do all the modifications you intend on doing before you get the ecu upgraded. That way the program can be set up for the specific modifications. Hp gains would be dependant on the extent of modifications.

I wrote and asked if they had a dyno sheet on this product and they do not. He said depending on existing mods...it's typically around 10HP which is not great for the price. I've seen people blow money or sillier things so alas...now you are aware.

Actually, on a 5S-FE a real 5-10hp for 500 bucks sounds pretty good, but can’t you basically do the same thing with a S-AFC or E-Manage (less the Dyno) for about the same price bracket and not have to take your car down for as long while waiting on a part to get programmed?

Personally though, I have read enough bad things about Jet’s parts to question whether they could deliver on this claim. I mean a 6-7% increase over stock, is a pretty impressive claim for an ECU tweak. At least it’s more realistic than the resistor crap :).
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

...and this is where the red flag should be going up.

No one is going to tune a car better than the factory, assuming the car is still stock.

Stay away from the jet chips, useless
