It is illegal. It has to be amber for the front light and red or amber for the back light.

Yeah, thats what I mean. The housing can be clear, the light emitted though has to be amber for the front.

Its not illegal. The actual clear corner lenses on the Solara are illegal, because law requires some sort of orange reflector on the front or front-side (and red on the back), and the Solara has no separate reflector. The actual light can be any color from white to amber tho. (rear can be any color from amber to red, but that doesnt leave much in between). Thats how it is in Jersey, but I think its the same anywhere in the US. (the need for the reflector is a national law, but the color of the light is a state law.)

I cant find the law from NJ, but heres from Delaware.

http://www.dmv.de.gov/Driver_Services/D ... pment.html

Turn Signals - All vehicles manufactured after 1953 must be equipped with two turn signals in front and two in rear. Those in front may be any shade between white and amber; those in rear any shade between amber and red. Both sets must be visible at least 100 feet in normal sun-light. Older vehicles equipped with turn signals must have them in working order.

Nope. Unless your corners have a little DOT logo they're illegal for street use. It’s sort of like the tint thing though; maybe in your area no one cares. That’s how it is here with as many falling apart junker farm trucks and whatnot that we have on the roads in Indiana if I got pulled over for this I would go into shock.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

I use clear corners with APC titans too. I'm thinking of switching to regular clear white bulbs since the APC titans are pretty dim when lit. I cant see them from my driver seat at all when I'm blinking, whereas with the stocks, I could see it reflected off the divider or another car. The actual bulb is legal either way.

I keep my original corners in my trunk though, just in case, and for inspection. Its a one screw fix for each. The orange reflector on the front is really for protecting you car when its parked though so other people can see the front of it, so the cops shouldnt really pester you about it. Just make sure to put on the stock lenses at inspection and I dont think there will be any problem.
