Hello!

Hello!

Postby dinoxor » Sat Jul 24, 2010 11:20 am

hi!
So I've been browsing SolaraGuy for quite some time now and never have I learned so much from you guys in such a short amount of time! This is one awesome website!

Anywho, I'm a 19 year old commuting student at UTD and my parents decided to upgrade my 1999 chrysler concorde a few months ago since it was falling apart.
At first I never really liked the solara since the only person driving this car around here were mainly women or elders, not that I have anything against them! I was hoping for a civic but after a few days of driving I realized that this car is wasn't so bad, it has quite the power with a classy look. After the mods I will know for sure that my 2000 Solara SLE will be a one-of-a-kind car around this area compared to the common 350s,rsx, or worse... civic.

future mods:
clear corners
pinstripping (i'm having a difficult time removing it :/ )
debadging everything (except maybe leaving the Toyota sombrero on)
25% tint all around
sylvania white headlights
drop with tein or eibach suspension springs/ coilovers?
18" rims
injen CAI
independent fog with 3k hids hopefully
and lastly, a kaminari kit

I still have a long way to go and hopefully I can save enough money to make it happen.

So far these are the only picture I've taken after a nice wash and wax

small dent on the side

close up on the dent, should I just pop it out from the other side?

first mod :D "toyota" debadged

the only picture taken from my blackberry but photoshopppeeeddd

thanks again, hope this post wasn't too long and bore you!

As we say in Hawaii "E Komo Mai" (Welcome) to Solaraguy.
From the look of the photos looks like you can just pop the dent back out. If you don't trust yourself you can try a shop. Hopefully it won't be that much.
BTW... car looks great one of my favorite color on Lara's. Either White or Red. But with a Kit you'll notice a real difference and it help with a little drop. These Lara's ride high for a stock height.

As for your lights. If you need some HID contact Kenny. He should have a special coming out sometimes in August.
indiglosolara wrote:KCE Outlets will be having a sale on HID Kits in August, If you can hold out until then.
Prices will be competitive, but with every kit ordered in August I am throwing in a FREE gift.

It will be the 2nd week of August when this sale is available. So keep an eye out in the For Sale Forums.

What's that black thing framing around the fenders above the wheels? I never seen that before.

thanks guys!
hopefully i'll have some money left over to get some lights since i'm gonna spend some money on renting textbooks :[
Oh and the black frame around the fender came with the car and I thought it came stock with the solara. But it has a rubber texture to it so I think it's to protect the edge of the fender? But i don't know really, should I take it off?

dont even bother with the small dent...you will probably make it worst if you try popping it out.
regarding the rubber things around fenders...i had those when i got my solara. i took them off but you make need some goof off to remove
glue residue. that small chip on the grille is really nothing much...i've seen worst, your car seems to be in excellent condition. i wouldn't even want to mod it since its so clean. leave it the way it is and just save for the kit.

i used to have the sun roof visor on as well but removed it...i dont like that look much. only problem is it leaves a mark around where it once was

Ask, Kenny first for the HID. They are Lifetime warranty....
Plus, a little gift on the side.
