Leaking Trunk
I have an 01 SE Coupe. It does have a sunroof. Recently, I've found my spare tire well had a couple of inches of water in it. I pulled the drain plug and emptied it out and dried it up thinking it was just a fluke and since I had driven through some water maybe that's how it got in. The next heavy rain I checked and again it had water in it. This car has never been in an accident and the gasket looks perfect. It does have a spoiler but the holes for the spoiler are outside the gasket so even if it leaked it would not drip into the trunk from there. What makes this stranger is that there is no place I could detect in the carpet or on the panel covering the spare where any water was dripping. Also, when I checked right after it rained I found this was quite a lot of water from just one rain. The only place I could think of where water could come in is from the tail lights but they've never been removed. I've owned the car since it was new and take great care of it. It still has original paint (except for the bumpers). Every few months I silicone all the rubber parts to keep them soft. It's rainy season now (summer in Florida) and I have to keep the drain plug out so I won't get the water buildup in the well. I love the car (it's a V-6 Five Speed) and have no intention of getting rid of it. It's only got 102,000 miles on it and still drives like new.
Any Suggestions on what to do to solve this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
