How would this come loose

How would this come loose

Postby ToyoSolV6 » Fri Sep 10, 2010 9:27 am

So I kept hearing this metal hitting metal sound coming from my engine bay for the last week and when i would shift hard into any gear i would hear something hit pretty bad, i looked in my engine bay today and found that the two bolts holding the torque rod bracket are gone its like someone went in there and took them out because the bracket is not broken both bolts are just out.

heres a pic i took this morning:

Maybe they just backed out. Did you use some loctite and torque them down?

Supercharged @ 5.5psi
288whp 270tq. :bird:

There's your answer. Make sure you use Gabe's reinforced bracket, go to a junkyard and get some bolts or go to your Toyota dealer and get some new bolts, use some locktite. Then make sure your rear headers/egr valve isn't damaged due to engine flexing... <--- This happened to me when my stock bracket initially broke.

It already looks like he's using a reinforced bracket.

Yeah they could've back out like everyone else has said.
When i was changin' my oil the previous time, i noticed the big bolt on the bottom of the torque rod was backin' out on me, and i just retightened and torqued it down as much as i could.
