Sup guys, recently I've been in a TLS (toyota/lexus/scion) meet in my area. It was my first time with them and people were really nice and have dope cars. But what made me sad is that, after all the suspension drama, I've lowered my car with Tein springs and KYB shocks and that guys in a hellaflush soarer comes to me and was like: nice car dude! you need a drop tough!

LOL it's funny but made me sad at the same time... I went back to the "Wheels on Gen.1" thread and saw people with the same setup but WAY LESS wheel gap than mine... So I'm hoping to swap my tires really soon.

My current setup:
TSW Kyalami, 18x8, +40 all around with 215/40/18 tires.

I know the tires are small but I bought the mags like that! Now take a look at my current stance:
Front

Back

As you can see, with some 225/45 in the front, it would be tight without much rubbing. In the back, HOLY WHEEL GAP! The Teins claim to lower 1.4" in the back but it doesn't even look lowered! You you guys think I can put 235/45/18 in the back? Or 225/45/18 with 15mm spacers in the back? What do you guys think is the best for me? I'll hammer my fenders btw!

Here are some pics of the TLS meet. We first met at some place and then went to the opening of the first Scion dealership in Canada. There was a event with best car prizes and we were invited :) Enjoy!

Nice pics!

Perhaps your next move should be to get a body kit. That should make your car look lower.

Just do 225/45s all around. Spacers aren't going to do anything to lessen your wheel gap, only give you a reason to (possibly) have to run negative camber out back, which looks stupid if you have a sizable fender gap.

Ok so forget about the spacers, can I get 235/45s in the back? I don't think 225/45 in the back will fill the gap...

BTW yadda, you have no idea how many beautiful cars we have in Montreal. With our freezing/snowing winter, everybody has a summer car and they build it during winter time (from nov to march). When the snow stops, everybody roll their freshly built summer cars and we have so many events it's unbelievable. So many car enthusiasts here! Come and pay a visit one day lol!

And the "Lexus" you are talking about is another one which is pretty much OEM (Toyota Soarer). He took off the spoiler.

235's will most likely be rubbing on your strut

the lip kit does makes the car seem lower and is a must have on a gen 1.
screw it...take your car to a shop and half them cut one coil from each of your springs.

it may reduce quality of comfort but at least u will be happy
also get the biggest size tires u can get without rubbing
225x45 all around sounds right....235 is just wider tires not the height. height is the 45

p.s. maybe your struts are in really great condition and springs are not able to drop completly (lol just a guess i could be really wrong though)
the only way you will appreciate your current ride height is to compare to another solara
