Postby SPICA1750 » Tue Sep 28, 2010 3:59 pm

Hey guys! i got some questions...and i've already searched it..with no help.
1) I want to lower my car and i want to know which is better tein or eibach springs?
2) The eibachs would be 1.6Front & 1.6Rear how low is that really? (thats a dumb question but i need help knowing for sure)
3) Would i have problems with lowering it on the wheels and tires i have on the car now? (pic below)

1) I had Eibach's before I went to coilovers...they weren't bad, my biggest disappointment with them was that the drop wasn't even. The rear sits a LOT lower than the front. From what I remember, Tein's seem to sit better. Maybe someone can post some pics of the two, don't think I have anymore of my eibach pics, but I'll check.
2) refer to #1
3) no problems with the rims/tires you have now

actually, if you check out my cardomain site, check out the older pics of the car with the aircraft, those are on eibach's...hard to tell since they're not really close, but the rear is lower.

i have eibach springs and tokico struts. i never was lowered with stock wheels but i think you'd be fine. my wheels barely rubbed at all, and the little they did rub was only because the aftermarket rims are like 2" wider than stock, and they would sometimes rub the outermost part of the rear fenders. for pics of my setup:

You won't have rubbin' issues wit OEM 16" Solara rims.
If you get 17's and then lower your car, and have 3 full grown people in that back you'll have a slight chance to rub.

^^^^ i dont think it was that you're new, it was just what you said was little odd: "Even with those tires on them?", SleeperSolara said "You won't have rubbin' issues wit OEM 16" Solara rims", ofcourse he means WITH the tires. lol anyway, in your original post it didnt say what size tire you even have, its just a pic, we are assuming you have the original size tire on the original 16" rim.

Yeah it was a bit awkward lol i mostly definitely sould of clarified tire size. There Goodyear viva 2 (p205/65R15). I guess cause there big and that rubbing was a concern of mine..so forgive me guys on that one haha

Yeah 205/65/R15, if you lower your car, you won't rub at all.
