Great bumpers

Great bumpers

Postby onefiend » Sun Nov 23, 2003 12:32 pm

I was stopped at a light trying to make a right when an 80 yr old man came crashing into me at 35mph with his Lincoln Towncar. I was ok but what surprised me when I got out of the car was that my bumper was pretty much the same, except for a few scratches here and there, it withstood the impact very well. Other than a slight case of whiplash I feel ok. My car looks ok..anyways just wanted to share that with you guys. Our Solara's have great bumpers.

It's probably also a good idea to have the body checked out. The same thing happened to a friend of mine with a 96 Avalon. Looked perfectly fine, but there was some bends in the body that didn't show up until he had it checked out.

You're right, I had a similar experience. I stopped in a traffic jam on 85 in Atlanta and a lady in a Hyundai didn't.... It demolished the front of her car I was really dreading getting out and seeing the back of mine. All I had was 2 little rub marks. I still had the whole bumper and skin replaced with new. There was no other damage. I had a pulled muscle in my back that took a week to heal though... -JoeB

Yeah I got his insurance info. I have a little soreness on my neck and I am seeing a doctor on Monday. I should get a couple grand off of this incident, for my pain and suffering and all. I dunno if the frame was bent at all, I should get it checked out though.

But since my bumper only has minor scratches on it, would it better to get it repainted and stuff? I thought repainting usually lowers the value of the car?
