Aftermarket seats for Solara?

Aftermarket seats for Solara?

Does anyone here have aftermarket racing/sport seats in their Solara? I wanna get one coz the stock one just isn't working for me. I hate it so much to the point of wanting to buy a different car. So I figure, I'd spend my money on new seats. Comfy seats.

I have a Corbeau Forza II, Corbeau is the only company, which I know of, that makes a bracket for our cars, they offer a full line of sports, and racing seats. The Forza II is not overly comfortable, but that's not really what I was going for, as I wanted better shoulder / hip support :).

pretty much anything will fit, just as long as the brackets that ties the seat to the frame down fits.

i've sat in a few racing seats, sure they're comfortable for the first 10 mins, but once 30 mins passes by, no room for movement. once 1hr passes its break time for big guys like me. im happy with the seat i have, nice and soft. however it could use a little more lateral support.

I have a Corbeau Pro Sport on the driver side. It's damn comfortable because I am not that buff. Stock seats suck when you take corners hard. It doesn't give you enough back support.

Brackets fit ALMOST perfectly... I ended up needing to file the bolt hole a bit bigger.

It's hard to get a bracket without buying the seat.

As said above the bracket was a very good fit. I installed my new seat in less than 20 minutes. I think the bracket was 85.00 when ordered with the seat. I honestly don't remember where I ordered it from, but it does even have the proper mounting spot for your stock seatbelt connector, so I am very happy with that fact.

The stock seats are great, until you decide you want to push the car really hard into a slalom. Then it's brace yourself against the door and hold on for dear life time :).

By the way guys, I think it’s Sport Compact Magazine that has a feature on aftermarket seats this month. I was sorta disappointed with the feature, as they only tested the seats on midgets, but if you’re a little person it might be some good information as they tested a lot of seats.

if you were to buy a seat, all you have to do is buy a seat that isn't too restrictive on the sides. but yeah the SCC article had drivers that were like a 32? wtf.......i have sat in very small tight racing seats b4 tho....recaro seats are usually very supportive and have enough space.

It would be nice if the Gen 2 Solara seats could fit in the Gen 1. I hate the stocks seats because of the slight rocking on hard stops. Otherwise, they are o.k.
