I am considering trading my '99 solara SE with a '99 Audi A4 2.8L.
Has anyone had an Audi A4 before? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for those who replied.

S4 is one of my favorite cars beside BMW, however, I am looking for a car no more than $12K. S4 came out in 2000 - as far as I am aware of - and its price range is from $20K +

As far as A8, I suppose it's an 8 CYL., and I am not willing to drive an 8 CYL at this period of time, since I drive over 100 miles per day, I pay well over $300 per month for fuel right now on my Solara. It consumes fuel way more than I expected. I guess there 's something wrong with the car, since this is the first time I drive a Japanese car and it ONLY makes 17~18 miles per gallon.

The audi A6 has the worst customer satisfaction rating. I believe that 55 out of every 100 made have "major" work done to them within a year. They also have sealed engines, so they can only be worked on by Audi certified techs (Audi dealers) = Not cheap!!!! If you're on a strict budget, not a good idea.

If your looking for fuel economy and a decent price why not try the VW Jetta 1.8 Turbo. VW makes Audi engines no?

If you were to get the A4, you can always get the 1.8T and chip it.

HONDA??? Trade my Solara for a HONDA??? :o

Sorry buddy, Honda does not worth a penny, I 've had 7 Accord so far - I am car dealer - 3 among these Accord was driven by me for about 4~6 months and I cannot say that I was satisfied with any. They got all known mechanical problems ...
If interested I've got a 94 Accord EX, 5 SPD, 158 K miles for sale ...

It sounds like you need a reliable car for your long commute, and the Solara's the way to go, hands down. It also depends on what kind of financial status the owner is. The A4's nice, but you gotta pay to play, i.e. parts, labor, and frequency of mechanic visits. I constantly see people big ballin like rappers, nice cars, clothes, but zero cash. All in all, it depends on the owner's willingness to maintain the vehicle.

100 Miles a day, i guess most freeway. If turth than must be something wrong with your car. i drive about 30 miles each way to work and i got around 23.5MPG(auto) also 30% is rush hours. i think u should get a Honda Civic, Acura Interga, toyota carmy or collora for better gas and reliable.
