there is something call advance search...

1) search by exact word
2) search by section - if bodykit, usually is in section aftermarket upgrade
3) try to be more specific there is not that many body kit around for solara

if the word body or kit are in any of those posts, then they will be returned as a result. Like in the muffler thing, someone could have said that they have a body, and boom, there ya go.

I actually used this method to remove the emblems, however, I still have large amounts of glue on the trunk lid that won't come off. I've placed towels soaked in Goof-Off (similar product), 3-M automotive adhesive remover, a gasoline powered high pressure water hose (the kind used to remove stain from decks,) and nothing has worked. Anyone else have any ideas?

i used zippo lighter fuild and take off the glue.. right after that i washed it off with soapy water, then waxed and buffed it. it worked like a charm.

since i wahsed it right afterwards it shouldn't damage the cars paint..

You can use about anything to take off the glue, just make sure you don't leave it on their for any period of time. Then wash the area thoroughly with dish soap (I use Palmolive), then immediatly wax and buff the area.

Anyone have any recommendations for removing emblems that have been on a car for over 12 years? (Like, say, a couple of parking stickers on the rear bumper of my other car. Goo-Gone ain't cutting it.)

i heated the emblem with a hair dryer, and continued to heat it while removing the emblem. then i heated it for about 5 mins, and rubbed as much of the glue as i can with my thumb. then i rubbed with goo gone, and car wash soap. finally i used some meguiars paint cleaner. it works great. nothing left of the emblem.

The only thing that keeps me from doing it is a.) it's fricken cold outside and will be impossible, and b.) My car is 5 years old (& white) and I think it's going to leave a residue, even when goo gone-ing it and scrubbing it clean. But then again, if it looks nasty I could put it back on. How have other people fared with white cars?

I'm glad you guys resurrected this topic because I searched for it and didn't find anything. Sometimes the wording on those things can be tricky. I have goo gone, dental floss, and fishing line at home, so now I have a project for this weekend. 8)
