I just got a 2001 Solara SE. I would like to spice my car up some but I'm not looking for a big change. I saw some kind of Mod thing on ebay. It;s suppose to add 10-20 hp and it goes by air intake I think. Any comments on it? How about Air Filters? I also am interested in getting the xenon headlights and Fog lights. They sell these on Ebay pretty cheap as well. Any suggestions on some basic upgrades in performance and looks are appreciated. thanks

You can find all those info in the forum with details, you just need to do some search and you'll get every info you need. I'll just point out one thing really fast. If you don't have the money to spend on the car then you'll not gonna get any peformance gains. If you have the money then you got couple options (SC, Headers, A/F management, suspension,..). About looks, I'm not a big fan of it but you can do alot of stuff with neon and all.
Welcome to the club anyways.

There is no cheap speed for the Solara.... other than NOS as Ultraslow mentioned, but that's still probably more than you were looking to spend. Those chips are absolutely and completely worthless. You can buy them at radio shack for like 20 cents.

Actually, if you're mechanically inclined, you can easily make a CAI using just home depot materials. Costs like 12 dollars and 2 hours.

The guys on mx6.com do it. I drive an mx6 right now, looking to get a solara in the coming month.
