Ummm... a leaking head gasket is not good. Oil and antifreeze don't mix! I hope you meant valve cover gasket. 88K is way too early for a head gasket to leak!!!

I know this is a very stupid question but I still have to ask. Since I bought my Solara from a auction, I have absolutly no idea what that warranty is on the car. There is no information about the previous owner or transfering the warranty. How can I get a warranty like that? Just go to a dealer and buy one? I really dont have any knowledge. Please help...

how many miles do you have on teh car? you might want to sign up at carfax.com to see if there are any previous records of major services/repairs done to the car. once you find out from that, then you might want to produced to the dealer and ask for a warantee extension, to see if it can be applied to your car.

Thanx.
I have about 56,000 miles and I checked the carfax.com. There was no major service/repair done to the car. So I guess I could try to go to any Toyota dealer and ask for a extension, is that right?

Yeah, Extended warranties vary on what is covered and deductibles and new/used/aftermarket parts, etc. Prolly $1500 for a few years coverage. Not worth it in my opinion. Read the fine print if you do get one-- they may allow used parts!!
