yea see and my car came with every option that toyota had that wasn't dealer installed. i wonder if it was cuz my car was an earlier model? i noticed toyota does that they release a car then change the options around sometimes before the year is over.

Referring to the GEN2 (2004) model: If he is into racing then get the SE - Sport over the SLE. The SE - Sport has better suspension package and you can upgrade to the 18" BBS/Michelin wheel & tire package. The Nissan you’re talking about is so small!! To me at least, I am 6.0 feet tall. Defiantly supporting the Solara all the way. If he is looking for a small sports car...tell him to try the Celica GTS 6-speed. Hello!! Much better looking also.

ImpactX, the new GTPs are 260 at the crank, but the older ones are 240 at the crank, still not bad at all

I do not believe any of the models have dual power seats reason being its a 2 door car and the power seat makes it very difficult to get in and out of. I am not 100% sure though

Please take some advice from a FORMER Pontiac owner. Get a Solara. The Pontiac will be a nice car for about the first 50,000 miles than you will probably have to start replacing some stuff, (alternator for example). The Solara will be a great car for much longer with less maintenance issues.

Plus, with all of the rebates that American car companies do for new cars it really lowers the value for people with older model ones. I had a '99 Pontiac Grand Am and when my lease was finally up it was the January after 9/11 when GM had all the 0% financing deals. The value of my Grand Am went from about $10,500 to maybe $7,000 in a amatter of 3 months.

I am never going to buy a new or American car ever again. I am so glad I got an '01 Solara because it is still fairly new but it won't lose value like a new or American car will. Sorry for the long response but wanted to give you some advice that I had to learn the hard way. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I drive a 2001 solara sle, with 35,000 miles. I have had no problems with the car. I think the car is outstanding for the money spent.In stock form the car is not the fastest, it has a comfortable ride with low road noise and average handling when cornering.With modifications to suspension,wheels and tires the handling ability improves a lot but you will lose the soft ride.I think the solara is a all around good car with good body styling. also you dont see that many solara's on the street compared to mazda or honda.

My 02 has 61k on it and my only problem so far has been the honeycomb inside my catalytic converter melted. No clue why, I got new exhaust manifold gaskets, catalytic converter, and air/fuel sensor on warranty in a few hours. I'm the only person I know who this has happened to though, I'd say it's not a very common problem.

The 00 GTP comes with the Series II 3800 L67 engine. It puts out 240hp/280TQ. The 260HP ones are the 04's with the Series III 3800 L67's.

I've never heard of a passenger side power/motorized seat in a coupe... That would be the suck if you had rear passengers because they are generally slow. Seriously, you guys oughta post pics!
