The 2 DIN sized one. Is it a in dash 6 pack or a single CD receiver?? I assume a stereo from a newer model could be swapped plug and play style IF the standard receiver was only a single CD player.

Which years had the in dash 6 pack if the 99's were all single CD models???

I'm confused. I can't imagine the Toyota dealer taking out the in dash single CD unit just to put another in dash unit that can handle 6 CD's. I don't think dealers like taking those things out on brand new cars because one scratch or broken off clip and people would be leery. Now, a trunk mounted CD changer, they do those sometimes. Can anyone clear this one up?? Thanks.

If it comes with a single disc and you want a 6 disc in it... they'll take out the single and put in a 6 disc changer for the difference in cost. They do it all the time.

On a used Solara, 1999?? I would think they would not take my single player "on trade" and sell me a new one for the difference. I know they would gladly do it on a new car though! A new 6 CD in dash player is prolly like $700. It would be nice if they'd give me like a $600 credit for my old one...

The post I quoted was referring to a "brand new car." On a used car no, they most likely would not do that, however you could still purchase one from them.
