Pipe question

Pipe question

Postby MGLax13 » Tue Dec 16, 2003 10:21 pm

How big is the stock exhaust piping? Is it 2.25"? Also, I noticed that the JPP exhaust uses a magnaflow muffler. I bought the same muffler but with a different shaped tip. The JPP exhaust has 2 resonators but I planned on getting 2.5" piping from the cat back with out a resonator. Do you think that's gonna be crappily loud? Should I throw a resonator in there?

It actually may be 2" piping...but dont quote me on that, it may very well be 2.25" If the JPP exhaust uses 2 resonators, the magnaflow muffler must be loud...logic would suggest using maybe just ONE resonator.

stock pipping is a dinky 2'.

the resonators are simple to find. just look at your exhaust midpipe, trace down towards the muffler. between the cat and muffler, there should be a smaller looking muffler. voila you have just found the resonator.

get rid of the resonator, and again loud is subjective some ppl think some exhuasts are loud whereas to others it might not be.

You'd have to cut it out and weld in a straight piece.
