Bodykit on Ebay

Bodykit on Ebay

Postby SolDoubt » Sun Nov 30, 2003 6:15 pm

I was just searching on Ebay for TRD parts for my solara and i came across this bodykit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=36475&item=2445127616
Does anyone know if this is a legit bodykit. It says 6 piece but from wat i have seen the Molley TRD is 7 pieces. Thanx in advance[/url]

It's just some knockoff fiberglass replicas.

Yes it's a fiberglass replica of the trd kit without the center rear piece. Don't get it from ebay. Check out this thread: http://www.zer0.info/solaraguy/viewtopic.php?t=5631

fiberglass is ok if youre on a budget, but then again that means you have to get it painted to match your car, which in the end may not save you that much $$ and get a crack on fiberglass and kiss it goodbye....

not that bad

Postby octanesolara » Sat Dec 20, 2003 6:43 pm

Get the fiberglass front peices and buy poly for the sides and back from toyota...that is if you got the original model. if you got the second style bumper then you would be better off getting all polly of course..never know what you get with fiberglass, rough edges and such..i know my octane was a beeoch

Also keeping in mind, doing that will make the price as much as buying it from Molly Designs themselves.

correct

Postby octanesolara » Mon Dec 22, 2003 4:05 pm

thats correct..if you have a first gen solara you have to go fiberglass on the front..but i would try to find someone who is trying to sell their kit peice by piece first...maybe you could get poly cause molly designs and trd dont sell first gen kits for the front. only the side and back...
bodykits cost a lot but can add a lot to ya car...

I think u can buy it directly from VIS. It's a fiberglass kit. http://www.visracing.com
Molly designs does not sell the sides and rears seperately, either buy the whole kit or find someone selling used ones. http://www.mollydesigns.com
The grill came with the bumper.

I should've went with TRD sides and rear, but I didn't like the TRD rears. But, going that route will save you a lot of $$$.
Does that octane have the grill attached to the bumper?
