Depends on what alarm system you have. RS3000, RS3200 or stock

My bad. It's the factory keyless entry system; I don't think it's an "alarm" per se. The one that was standard on the V6 SLE. Lock, Unlock, and Panic (on the back) buttons.

Umm, no, they don't. I work for Best Buy, as a car audio supervisor. You have to be at least 18 years old to be hired as an installer. I don't hire ANYONE who's under 21, and they have to have previous experience in installation. Right now, Best Buy's the only chain I know of paying installers well - we have people from Good Guys and Circuit City constantly applying because of that. We just need to carry better product.

Agreed, but if you take your car to Best Buy for an alarm you might be rolling the dice. They employ high school kids (to save money) who don't care if they mess something up.

alarm

I went with aftermarket for my Solara also. Had a Viper 350HV installed by circuit city. They also did a great job with the install. I know, I had to find the brain to install my trunk release the other day and found all the connections soldered with good use of zip ties and e-tape.

I've had the RS system in my landcruiser and camry. go with aftermarket.

happy new year!

Maybe they have stepped up their install game, but I have heard some nightmare stories about BB, especially in the larger metro. area stores. If you guys are happy, then it's all good! Prolly like MAACO or Scheib paintwork-- I've seen great paint jobs from both and HORRIBLE jobs as well. All comes down to who does the people and if they are conscientious about their labor (and your stuff). If you use these guys for bodywork, do your own prep!

No. Thats the whole point of a transponder key, so you can't use a regular key with it. Its for security
