Stock talk about the Generation 1 and 1.5 Toyota Solara which were produced from 1999 to 2003.

Changed the front rotors.

Changed the front rotors.

I changed the front rotors few days ago and noticed that the driver side rotor was way more worn out than the passenger side rotor.

I recall that I have faced this issue once with my Honda and it turned out that a cylinder was not operating properly, do you think that might be the problem with my Solara? or because the car requires tires alignment, since my car was involved in a front end accident and I've never done alignment yet.

Thanks

Hmmm... Did you lube the caliper slides? Rear calipers tend to freeze way more often than front ones, though. You could have a bad piston in your caliper, but I would be surprised unless you have like 100K on your car. I would say check your rotors and pads for wear in a month or so to see if it is uneven side to side. I know Honda swears by their factory rotors and pads-- did you use aftermarket ones or Toyota rotors/pads? I always turn aftermarket rotors even if they are brand new. Also, get that alignment done and torque your lugnuts properly (probably 80 ft/#'s).

Thanks for your reply. The car currently has 71K miles. I have not checked the rear pads, I might do so today ... I got this car a year ago when it had 50K miles and this is the first time I replace the rotors and pads.

I used aftermarket rotors/pads from Van's Auto Parts because I am selling this car after I do all the maintenance stuff (timing bellt, rotors/pads, oil ..)
I will stop by Costco today to have the alignmet done and lugnuts torqued.

Another quick question, when I hit 70+ MPH, the car starts shaking, do I have to do the alignment? or balancing? Well actually, I am guessing I need to do them both since the car pulls to the right ...

Last question, I was driving in the rain few days ago, the road was not flooded that much, I would say about 10CM, and the AC kept switching ON and OFF, has anyone faced this?

You may have had a caliper dragging. It's not too difficult to rebuild a caliper though, just get a rebuild kit.

As for the AC, was your heater on to defrost your window? That's how it defrosts, but cycling the AC on.
