I've heard very good things about G2 caliper paint. I am ordering some for mine. It also comes in several colors. http://www.g2usa.com/wheel.shtml -JoeB

The temp range of the G2 paint is 980 deg. The 1200 degree limit is for engine parts. If your calipers ever got that hot, I think you'd be in trouble. The VHT paint is 900 degrees. Trust me, you're fine with either. I guess the choice is how good do you want it, how much time do you want to take and how much do you want to spend?

VHT = Spray can that you can find for $5. It also dries fairly quick. I've heard VHT is one of the better spray products.

G2 = Comes with a spray on cleaner to prep. The paint is brushed on in 2 coats. Very thick and leaves a smooth high-gloss look. It costs about $43 and done right will have your car out of commission for a couple days. -JoeB

I have pics of my calipers on my car domain site. After a year, I still haven't had any fade. The finish is shiny, but not extremely glossy like real brembo brakes.

why not powder coat them?

Postby mycrobyte » Tue Jan 06, 2004 3:54 pm

If you really want them done right, remove them and have them powder coated. Of course then you will need to rebuild the pistons and such, but it will be a quality finish.

I wonder if this will also work on the rear drums..

I have the read diskbrake conversion but im dont have the time and money to get them installed..

My rear drums have peels the original black paint off from the factory so it looks tacky with the rust and all.

im thinking if getting the black paint.. since i have 5 spoke rims you can see the disk and drums alot..
