i have a 2002 6 cyl. solara that makes a whistling noise after i go over 120 mph.... it almost seems like the car is crying in a way , but not really. the noise i have no idea why it makes it ....is it the areodynamics of the car that the car starts to make that whistling noise from the engine...or is this just my car, i just bought it 2 weeks ago, should i go to the dealer?

ps. i have all stock parts

My Solara used to do that, I think it might have been from a chip in the windshield that was too small to see or something because I got a new windshield and it went away.

It most likely is your tires, I used to have pirelli p7000 and they made a lot of noise once you get the car over 80mph. I would not worry about it, your car making a little wistling at 120 is normal its supposed to make you think "crap what happens if I hit something going this fast?"

Na that has happened on my Solara and my Camry. It's a high pitched whistling that definately comes from the windshield or driver/passenger side windows.

The way the doors have the window glass exposed on the top makes a poor seal with the door jam, its just a fact of life. It also gets worse w/ age.

Humm...mine does sorta the same thing around 100mph+, except I swear it's from my engine. Almost sounds like a jumbo jet getting ready to take off on the runway :o

On my way home tonight I took my car up to 120 on highway 50 and all I could hear was my supercharger screaming and a little exhaust.
