focusing headlight

Ok board I could really use your expertise here. My passenger headlight has a nice tight pattern, with the majority of light focused on the road right where it should be. My driver's side headlight however, has a very wide and diffuse pattern by comparison. The lights are aimed and square yet there is a stark difference in beam tightness. At first I thought it was the bulbs (silverstar) but I switched the sides up and I still have the same problem so it must have something to do with the reflector housing. Anyone know of a way to adjust the focus of the headlight?

I dont think this is possible unless you open up the bulb itself? lol... but I remember from this forum sumone (most likely flipside lol) that the driver side is beamed differently so it doesnt blind other oncoming traffic... so hope that helps

absolutely correct. besides, i'm not sure if our lenses have adjustments.

I don't think the pattern's different between the left and right lamp. However, the lamps have a pattern that flare upwards towards the right. Park perpendicular to a wall. You'll probably see the cutoff and the flare. It'll look something like this (both headlamps): ____/ _____/

I'm pretty sure that the headlamps have horizontal and vertical adjustments. Best bet is to look in the Haynes manual.

I don't know if this is fixable, but my driver's side headlight beam is a bit higher than the passenger side. Both appear to have the similar concentration, but the beam elevation is different. This is sort of annoying when driving and looking at the road and seeing a bright patch of light a bit further in front of the other one. I don't think there's much I can do, but if anyone has any suggestions...thanks. BTW, I have a 99 Solara.

Yes there is an adjustment on the back of the headlight. There are a couple threads on here somewhere if you look around on how to do it yourself, or you can take it somewhere for like $20.
