Just wanted to let those people that are looking for a good mesh grill know that, TITO - who is a member of this forum - does very good work with our stock solara grills, converting them to mesh grills. I sent him my stock gen 1 solara grill and he neatly cut out everything in the middle and secured the mesh onto the grill with clips that you practically can't see. The mesh material is pretty high quality and has a chrome color. Just wanted to share this with you all, cause I remember reading a lot of posts about how people want mesh grills and the lack of them available on the market.

Would it be possible for you to take pics of where he clipped the mesh to the grille itself?

Im in that spot right now and trying to figure where the clips go to ensure it aligns up to the front of the grille... hope you know what Im saying

I know TITO totally cuts out the middle horizontal bar so it makes it a little easier to fit the mesh

Oh yeah... this is solara nytez

I could take pics, but unfortunately I do not have a digital camera, so I would have to wait till the film got developed and then scan them in. I'll try to take some pics but it might take a little while. The best explanation of where the clips are I can give you, is that there are four of them holding the mesh in place, and they are all running along the top part of the grill. The first clips is about 3.5 inches away from the corner of the grill.

Hey Alex, mention to them the additional cost and possible damage of trying to do it your self. I have figured out the best way of doing this and I have fabrication experience so it will come out right. I fabricated my side skirts and front and rear air dams.

Yea that's true! :P I did try to insert the mesh into the grill myself at first, and it didn't exactly come out the way I planned it too. I ended up scratching up my grill pretty bad, and was forced to order a new grill from toyota.
