Anyone have any suggestion about what car security system is good out in market? I'm acutally looking for a security / remote start system with a 2 way responder. But open for any suggestions.

Just got the clifford matrix rsx3.5 recently. It's a good system with remote start and 2way responder that reaches pretty far.

2 way paging units out on the market:
Autopage RS-750 (DON'T GET THE 850)
Clifford Matrix RS3
Viper 791XV
Compustar 2WFM

i'd say the latest Clifford Matrix is the best alarm out now. also has a built in turbo timer so you can arm your car and leave it running for 1 mintue. i'm totally gonna cop that alarm as soon as i scrap my Autopage 750. i'm tired of exchanging my LCD remote.

I installed mine with the help of a friend who does alarm installs. Took us about 3-4 hours. If you can use a multimeter and are confident in your abilities to play with all those wires you could do it, but I got help from a friend. Some of those wires could be bad to mess up.

anything from DEI is reliable. (hornet, viper, clifford, etc)

and i believe the function of having a timer countdown is applicable to most of the units.

it's do-able. but you gotta know at least a little bit of what you're doing. if you get a multi-meter you should be fine, but connecting the wires to the correct alarm wire may be confusing.

you thinking about doing a DIY job?

Usually about 50-80 per hour, 2-3 hours. Probably about 2 for alarm only, 3 if it has remote start.

I wouldn't say 250 is a good price. That's definately above average where I'm from.
