Dayum my clutch started slipping last week...I guess I gotta pick up another one. Arggghhh more $$$ I have to spend!!! BTW, a friend of mine told me that the clutch can be changed without dropping the tranny, is that true?

I'm pretty sure that replacing your clutch will require dropping the tranny. When I had mine replaced, that's what was done. How many miles do you have on your car?

My clutch is starting to slip too :x PurNocence, are you going to get an OEM clutch or are you going to upgrade to a different brand? Sorry, unsure about the tranny....

Do you drive the car up and down hills much? That seems a little soon to have to replace the clutch, but it all depends on how the car has been driven. I have a Clutchmasters Stage 2 clutch, and I would recommend it highly. According to Clutchmasters, it has 70% more holding ability than stock, yet it engages just as smoothly as the stock clutch. I don't know of anyone who has had bad things to say about this particular product.

Well, your tranny is going to have to be disconnected from you engine, that is a fact. Some cars are able to slide the tranny away from the engine enough to get to the clutch, but on a fwd car, good luck.
Nascar would be a sport if half the cars were driving the other direction.

Well, whether it seems too soon or not, the fact is that it is slipping. As for myself I of course am a DEFENSIVE driver  heehee but I don't know how the person who owned the car before me drove it so...whatever the case maybe I have to change it. Yea, I've heard some pretty good things about the clutchmaster's too. My friend runs that in his race civic...I dunno if I wanna spend that kind of $$ though.

It's been awhile since I bought mine, but I think on Clutchmasters website it lists for around $550-$575. You can get it cheaper from their distributors, but it's not a low cost item. Unless you can do the job, yourself, the labor cost for installation will be higher than the cost of the clutch.
